How to Write an Effective Autoresponder Email Message

Keeping customers interested and opening your company’s emails is imperative to the success of your email campaigns. Why else would you send the messages? To “brand” your business simply using the subject line? Of course not. In this section we will include many tips on how to keep customers opening your email messages regularly.
First and foremost, your messages have to seem very personal. Much like how you would speak to them in person.
In addition to being “spoken to” in a very personal tone, including their actual first name which can be placed in the message using code provided by autoresponder providers such as Aweber, the customer will appreciate your recognition of their name in association with your company.
However, remembering a customer’s name is great, but recognizing the value of their time is another thing.
It is important to keep your email messages as short and to-the-point as possible.
No one wants to receive a huge novella as a marketing email that will take those 20 minutes to get through. The only person who really reads these things is the person writing it, ultimately.
If you really must write more than a paragraph, try to remember that most people will only read the first few sentences then scroll down to the end of the email to see it all summed up.
Keep the beginning and end very strong and on-point as if these sentences are all you are able to say.
Remember that, in most cases, it will be the subject line that draws their attention and causes them to open your email in the first place.
Next, you must be able to gather their interest using the first few sentences or paragraph in order to help guide them towards making a decision based on your statement.
If you succeed in keeping their attention in the first few sentences, they will look more of the email and see if there are any decisions they can make based on the information you are providing them with.
If there are benefits they can use, the final part of the email must be an effective call to action.
This part also sums up the email and those people who skip through most emails will read this after the first few sentences so make it great!
Be sure to have an available link ready for them to click on just below the call to action!
We cannot stress the importance of the first few lines of text as this will, in most cases, either make or break your impression on the reader and may either cause them to open more emails in the future or simply put you in the junk mail box and report you as spam.
In regards to images used, try to minimize the amount of images and pictures used in the email, no one likes having to wait for things to load for too long and why wait for “another marketing email” to load? If it’s quick, you will gain their attention with an effective email!
Remember to use styles and font changes such as bold, italics and underlining sparingly. Too much of these often comes off as spammy and really gets annoying to most people.
Only use stylized text to make an important point. Less is more in this case.
